Computed tomography scans image processing for nasal symptoms severity prediction

This paper aims to use a new technique of computed tomography (CT) scan image processing correlate the analysis with sinonasal symptoms. A retrospective cross-sectional study is conducted by analyzing digital records 50 patients who attended ear, nose and throat (ENT) clinics at King Abdullah University Hospital, Jordan. The coronal plane CT scans are analyzed using our developed software. purposes this software calculate surface area nasal passage three different levels visible on scans: i) head inferior turbinate, ii) middle iii) tail turbinate. We employ techniques narrowing As consequence, obstruction in first level correlated significantly symptoms while second related frontal headache. No other significant correlations found third level. In study, we find that can be very useful predict severity common they used suggest treatment follow up case progression.
